Johor Bahru has always been a go-to weekend escape for Singaporeans for shopping and food sprees trips rather than nature getaways. Experience the slower side of life at Talula Hill Farm Resort in Kluang, Johor.

Johor Bahru One day Trip to Talula Hill Farm Resort

Talula Hill Farm Resort is nestled at the foothills of Gunung Lambak, it was transformed from an 10-acre oil palm plantation to a unique farm stay resort with animal feeding experience and organic farming discovery. Definitely, a kind of experience that we can’t find in Singapore.

Deluxe Cabin up to 4 guests

We have booked the deluxe cabin, which can accommodate up to 4 guests with an add-on extra bed. For larger groups of four or more, Talula Hill offers larger cabins designed in bunker-style or loft cabin layout.

During your nature retreat staycation, the room comes without a television. Giving you the perfect reason to step outside, spend quality time with your loved ones and get some fresh air. The resort provides all the basic amenities so guests can have a hassle-free and comfortable stay.

Activites for guests

After checking- in at 3pm, Talula Hill Farm Resort offers a series of activities for guests to enjoy and create wholesome moments together. The activities start from 4pm till 6pm, starting from hand-made craft to mini farm tour and followed by feeding the animals.

During our stay, which was one day after the Winter Solstice festival, we were served with tangyuan during the activities session. It was heartwarming and their tangyuan was tasty!

Organic farm tour at Talula Hill Farm

Following the hand-made craft, we went to the mini farm tour. The staff guided us through their organic farm, introducing a variety of vegetables such as blue pea plants, corn, and passion fruit. Learning how they make natural fertilizers for their plants and it was an enriching and educational experience for city kids and adults.

The farmers even invited us to taste their fresh harvest corn. It was really sweet but i don’t like raw corn. The harvest from their farm is used to prepare breakfast for guests or served at their Farm Kefi Cafe.

Upon check-out, the resort has nicely prepared a bag of organic vegetables for us as souvenirs. Since no pesticides are sprayed, natural fertilizers are used, spotting thick and chubby worms in their organic vegetables and corn is quite usual even though i screamed upon spotting them.

We also did goat feeding and animal feeding. Even though the animals were fence-bounded, they still ended up finding a way to roam freely around the resort. It was quite a funny sight and allowed you to get close up and personal with them.

Kefi Farm cafe overlooking the mountain views

When it was dinner time, we decided to fix our dinner at Kefi Farm cafe. Getting to Talula Hill resort can be a bit of a bumpy ride because of the uneven mountain roads so we decided to stay in and dine at Kefi Farm Cafe.

They have an extensive menu so you’ll be spoilt for choice. They served some farm-to-table food and the portions are huge that you will definitely leave full and satisfied. Even non guests can also dine in their cafe to enjoy this stunning view.

For night activities, if you are lucky it will be a campfire night. While our night activities were outdoor movie night under the stars. We spent our night stargazing, we were totally amazed by the vast amount of stars. The entire stay at Talula was a quick getaway from Singapore where you can slow down your pace here to learn about organic farming, feed the animals and just focus on healing in nature.

It was a quick recharging staycation at Kluang, Johor. Ideal for anyone looking to slow down, unwind and reconnect with the nature without planning a long trip.

For those dreaming of a beach escape in East Malaysia, Sabah offers something truly special. Semporna in Sabah is famed for its crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life. It’s the kind of island where every shade of blue feels unreal and the underwater is just as breaktaking as the ocean.
