Truly The Best Food in Jeju – South Korea, Jeju Island Food Tour Travel guide 제주도먹방여행

During Oct, finally I granted myself a long awaited dream which is booking a flight to South Korea. South korea has always been on my wanted list and Jeju Island is one of the city that has always been on my mind! Having a soft spot for serene scenery and a laid back kind of travel, Jeju island is a must go destination.

Upon reaching Korea at Incheon airport, we took an AREX (Airport Railroad Express) to Gimpo Airport to catch our domestic flight to Jeju! We took Jeju air to Jeju Island~

How about a selca first at the runway?

One of the touchpoints for Korea domestic flights is they provide passengers with a complimentary drink to quench their thirst. How thoughtful!

Coming back to the topic of food, on our day 2 we almost had a full day of food tour. I had personally researched about what the Koreans MUST EAT when they travel to Jeju so these are the truly the best food in Jeju!

Jeju Island Attractions

For this entire Jeju Island food tour, we took the public bus in around Jeju to try these famous food in Jeju island. As of 26 August 2019, there are new changes to Jeju Bus route . Expect a long bus journey if you are taking public transport around Jeju. If you wanna save time for more itineraries, you can consider hiring Trazy’s Jeju Island Tour with Private Driver & Van

NOLMAN 놀맨

We hopped on their local bus and travelled all the way to Nolman 놀맨. Nolman 놀맨 is popular for its seafood ramen and the only item sold in their menu is seafood ramen. This shows how specialised they are.

Having our lunch at a traditional Jeju stone house. Just right in front of Nolman, there is a vast of sea and you could enjoy the soothing sea waves while indulging your seafood ramen!

The long awaited seafood ramen! Doesn’t it just looks good?!

Actually, it wasn’t really long awaited, we were exploring the cafes nearby while waiting for our queue and we even missed our queue number. HAHA!

It’s a bowl of very fresh seafood ramen 해물라면. Nolman 놀맨 uses normal ramen for their noodle with fresh crabs and plenty of clams in their seafood ramen. Their highlights are their rich broth, the taste of freshness lingers in my mouth giving me a refreshing taste of the sea. No joke, it’s this good!

The crystal clear sea which is just right in front of Nolman 놀맨

There are a couple of cafes situated near Nolman 놀맨, they are Bomnal 봄날 which a korean drama named Warm & cozy  (맨도롱 또똣) has shot at Bomnal 봄날. Another cafe is Monsant Cafe 몽상 which is opened by one of the Big bang member, G Dragon.

There are indoor and outdoor seats in Bomnal cafe where you can have a good and closer view of the sea. To enter Bomnal cafe, you need to order a drink to get in.

Next up, Monsant Cafe 몽상. Because of the reflective mirrors, you might doubt is it open? But yes, it is open! Similarly, there is both indoors and outdoors seat with a different kind of view. Pick your favourite view & that’s the cafe you should go.

While my choice of cafe is 180 Coffee Roaster in Aweol 지금이순간  180커피로스터스. 지금이순간 means this moment in English. I love the name as it is a perfect name, this moment I’m in love with Jeju <3

Aweol Coastal Walk

Walked along the beautiful coastal walk & you will reach 180 Coffee Roaster in Aweol 지금이순간  180커피로스터스 in no time.

지금이순간  180커피로스터스

At this moment, are you already immersed with the scenery of Jeju Island? 지금이순간  180커피로스터스 is a hidden cafe with lesser crowd as compared to the other cafes. I had a relaxing afternoon at the cafe, enjoying the mocha while capturing the captivating view of this place.

올래국수 (Olleh Gooksoo)

It’s a little tricky to find our way here,  we asked a few of the locals to check we were on the right track to the shop. Finally we are here at Olleh Gooksoo올래국수!

Look at the amount of the Signatures they got! It’s almost everywhere in the shop. A 30 minute waiting time is needed.

Another well known shop in Jeju Island,  Olleh Gooksoo올래국수. Their pork noodle soup 고기 국수 was amazing!

The chunky pork meat with clear broth soup and tasty noodle. The broth is so good that it doesn’t give me a sticky after taste and the portion is huge!

After a long journey of bus ride, finally we checked in our hotel and took a bus to this popular shop near Seongsan Ilchulbong 성산일출봉 to settle our dinner. This restaurant has appeared at one of the Korean variety show, The Return of Superman!

일출봉등경돌

YES! Live abalone, they are so super yummy, unlike those abalones we ate from the can. The highlights of this seafood stew are definitely the live abalone, chewy octopus and the refreshing soup base.

This is the smallest size of their stew, in korea the serving is rather big and filing so it’s usually wiser to share with a group instead.

일출봉등경돌

In these Jeju Island food tour, all the food and restaurants that I have visited are truly well-liked by the Koreans. You can definitely give it a try on your next trip to Jeju Island!
