Phu Thap Boek (Phu Tub Berk) is the tallest mountain, 1,768 m high in Phetchabun Province, Thailand. Phu Thap Boek Mountain is famous for its sea cloud that appears especially during sunrise.
To wake up early in the morning to be greeted by the swarming sea cloud, you can consider camping at Phu Thap Boek for a night. Let down your high expectations if you want to stay there for a night! As the camping area is not too clean, expect to have a shared public washroom and toilet fee is to be collected per entry too.
Otherwise, you can hire an english speaking private driver to travel around each Khao Kho attractions, to reach Phu Thap Boek on time to catch the magical moment! The private driver might even bring you the right spot to capture the most beautiful sea cloud!

Chase the wild Himalaya Sakura at Phu Lom lo
Khao kho is widely known as the home of sea cloud but little do travellers know that Sakura actually exists in Thailand too! The cooling weather in Northern Thailand on certain seasons make it possible for the Sakura to grow in Thailand.
At Khao kho Thailand, you could do Sakura viewing at Phu Hin Rong Kla National park, Phu lom lo! Phu lom lo has the largest sea of wild Himalaya Sakura in Thailand! The cherry blossom season in Khao Kho, Thailand may start to bloom from December to February.
However, there are still chances of Sakura late-blooming as it’s subject to the weather condition. Additionally, the Sakura blooming season might vary each year.
To enter Phu Lom lo, no personal vehicle is allowed in the national park so there is truck service at the entrance. Pay a fee to ride on the truck that brings you to Phu lom lo and the largest stretch of pinkish cherry blossom in Khao Kho Thailand!

If you are travelling in Khao kho during the weekends, experience this Thai local night market at Thai Lom walking street (Lom Sak). This night market is only held on every Saturday only, selling from electronic gadgets to plenty of Thai street food.
Thai Lom walking street feels more localised as compared to those night markets in Bangkok. Probably it’s away from Bangkok so it’s less touristy as compared. Moreover, the price of the food is definitely more pocket-friendly.
There were several food that I didn’t see it before in Bangkok night market. It was a nice experience walking through the Thai Lom walking street, getting soaked in the local ambience. Even when we wouldn’t speak Thai, we managed to purchase our food there successfully and I had this milk bread at the night market, it tasted so delicious!

Day 3: Discover Khao Kho scenic popular attractions
Lavender watching at Tanrak talaymok cafe
Tanrak Talaymok cafe is one of the popular cafes among the locals probably due to breathtakingly beautiful mountain views and it’s also a famous spot for sea cloud viewing in the morning. A perfect cafe to indulge in your breakfast with good views~
Another highlight for putting Tanrak Talaymok cafe in your Khao kho itinerary is because a small bunch of lavenders could be seen! Tanrak Talaymok also a sea of beautiful flowers in front of the cafe that is good for insta-worthy.
✦ Travelereve tip: I would recommend putting Tanrak Talaymok cafe in your Khao Kho Itinerary, it’s a good idea to drop by here to enjoy some fresh air and take some insta-worthy photos. However, the cafe is popular so it might be crowded. Expect some waiting time if you decide to dine here.

Strawberry picking, taste your own pick
The next best thing to do in Khao kho is experiencing strawberry picking at a strawberry terrace plantation! You may ask your private driver to drive you to any strawberry farm. Be careful of the steep slopes as you are picking the strawberries, it can be quite challenging.
Choose those large strawberries in the planation, pluck it and taste it! It’s sweet and fresh! One of the rare trip where you can taste your own pick without travelling to Korea or Japan for strawberry picking. They will charge accordingly by weighing your bucket of strawberries.
Wander at Khao Kho Windmill farm
Khao kho windmill farm is a spectacular spot to visit in Khao kho where you can get close to 24 gigantic windmills that spread across the Khao kho wind farm that produced electricity to them using wind power!
To get close these windmills, pay a fee of 60baht for per pax for the tramp service that will drive you to the windmill attractions. There are also a little stretch of tiny Sakura trees for viewing if you happen to travel Khao kho during wintertime. It definitely feels like as if you were in the western countryside.

Taste the Northern Thailand Grilled chicken
In Northern Thailand, you got to try their authentic grilled chicken(Gai Yang). The meat is extremely juicy and tender! The food prices are relatively cheaper in Khao Kho as compared to Bangkok.

Cafe hopping at Le Bonheur
Cafe hopping has been a rising trend in Thailand in recent years! Even in Khao Kho which is considered as a village in Thailand, cafe hopping trend continues! There are plenty of hip cafes that differentiate themselves with their own vibes and cafe environment.
Le Bonheur is a highly recommend cafe to visit in Khao kho because of its tranquil environment. Not too overcrowded with people for your afternoon tea and indulge a cup of Thai milk tea and cake~ You could even spot the windmills from afar!

Pino latte cafe has become a popular instagrammable cafe to visit in everyone’s Khao kho itinerary! I wouldn’t deny that Pino latte cafe has a vantage overlooking view of the serenity mountains, a tiny far-away Wat Pha Sorn Kaew could be spotted and unexpected sea clouds that highly reliable on the weather condition.
✦ Travelereve tip: Due to the overwhelming travellers, Pino latte cafe could be really crowded during the festive season or peak travel season in Khao kho. I would recommend you can stop-over to Pino latte cafe for photos instead. However, do also expect some photobomber. The crowd is really insane!

Visit Wat Pha Sorn Kaew 360 degrees surrounded by the mountains
In this Kho kho itinerary, one of the highlights of visiting Khao Kho is to visit the magnificent Wat Pha Sorn Kaew in Phetchabun province. The 5 large white buddha temple that is uniquely built surrounding by the mountains, look extremely peaceful which totally worth the visit even if you are not there for praying or meditation purpose.
There are 2 sides of the temples, the white temple and another temple with many colourful mosaic tiles decorated. Turning the whole temple turns glittering! Every corner of the temple, you could get a picturesque view of the mountain. How beautiful is this temple~
We visited Wat Pha Sorn Kaew on the last day of 2018 so there were plenty of Thais coming to the temple to pray to pay back their gratitude and pray for a better year in 2019.
