Where to Stay in Tokyo, Japan for the first night?

Upon booked my flight ticket to Japan, I had this burning question. Where to stay in Tokyo, Japan for the first night?

Planning for the right accommodation to stay in Japan was a more tedious question than itinerary planning. Anyone can’t agree more with me?

It was quite a challenge to decide on the right accommodation to stay in Japan. Having to consider the price, the size of the hotel room and the location of the hotel. Ideally near the train station for more convenience! Usually, hotels with a strategic location or with reputable hotel brands cost a bomb!

If you have just landed in Tokyo and plan to take a bullet train early on the next day, I would recommend you to stay near the train station. As the Shinkansen is very punctual so it’s definitely wise not to miss your train. If it’s your first time travelling to Japan, read my First Impression of Japan to prevent any culture shock.

Hotel Unizo Tokyo Ginza-Itchome

For our first night, we stayed at Hotel Unizo Tokyo Ginza-Itchome. The nearest station stated on the website is Ginza-Itchome Station.

However surprisingly, the next nearest station is Tokyo station, reachable by foot in 10 minutes. The entire walking journey doesn’t really feel like a 10 mins walk as we were doing people watching along the way. Highly recommend alighting at Tokyo station without needing any train transfer.
